Resignation

August 10, 2011

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is with great regret and sadness that I announce my resignation as your AGO Region I (New England and Argentina) Councillor. It has been a privilege to serve the region and the Guild over the past five years, but my wife’s illness has necessitated this decision.

I have met many wonderful members during my term, and will cherish those friendships. It has been very rewarding to have visited all the New England chapters (sorry, Argentina!), and to have been welcomed at conventions, POEs, programs, recitals, dinners, and other events.

This past Thursday, upon the recommendation of the Executive Committee, in consultation with our Regional Nominating Committee, the AGO National Council ratified the appointment of Cheryl Duerr, AAGO, to complete my term (ending June 30, 2012).

Cheryl, a member of the Boston, Providence, and Cape Cod and the Islands Chapters, is passionate about the Guild and has served as our Regional Coordinator for Education, and on many committees including the national nominating committee, steering committee for the 2011 AGO Region I/II Convention in Morristown, and leadership team of the POE (Technical) and POE (Advanced) in Boston this past summer. She is presently serving on the steering committee for the 2013 AGO Region I/II Convention in Hartford, and as the coordinator of workshops for the 2014 AGO National Convention in Boston.

Thank you for your support and kindness over the years. You have each contributed to this pinnacle of my professional music career, and I hope that I might again be called to serve the Guild.

Please keep my family (Moira and our 13-y/o daughter, Lucy) in your prayers and thoughts.

With great appreciation,

E Lary Grossman, PhD
